Nine Queens

I signed up for Netflix last week, and this was the first movie I received. Although the title is similar to the last movie I saw, this one was much different!

Nine Queens is an Argentinian flick about an elaborate heist by two very desperate con artists. My girlfriend found it to be rather slow, but that's probably because she didn't have to read the subtitles like I did (oh yea, the movie's in Spanish). In retrospect, the director does spend a considerable amount of time on character and plot development; however, in the end you find it all to be worth it, as the last twenty minutes or so keep you on the edge of your seat.

One of the few things that sucked was the lack of special features on the DVD. There were no extras like deleted scenes or interviews. For a film like this, that kind of thing would have been nice.

Definitely worth seeing though if you're a fan of The Usual Suspects or The Game; or if you just want to get a taste of Buenos Aires and Argentinian film.
