Mapping Sydney
I found out the other day, by complete accident, that Google Maps knows about Sydney! So I get to messing around, trying to see if the place still looks familiar (albeit from a birds-eye view). Low and behold I managed to find my former residence! Check it out.Labels: australia, maps
Shouts from Madness!
I've been a listener of Madness radio for a few years now and in they're most recent show they gave me a shout-out! I'm sittin' here in my office listening to it and right around the 44 minute mark I hear, "shouts to everbody listening on the internet… people like Jerome…" I'm like what!?!?
I've emailed them a few times over the years, but it was far from regular. They recently started podcasting, which has allowed me to leave comments more frequently and less formally. I think this is the real reason they've given me some recognition. Either way I'll take it.
If you want to hear it for yourself, download the mp3 and, while I recommend listening to the whole thing, if you want to fast-forward to the good part :) jump to 44:15.Labels: hip-hop, madness

Netflix mishaps
Usually Netflix is pretty good about getting movies to us next day, but this time they've really dropped the ball. Although out movies shipped today, they won't be here until Saturday! Jennifer's is coming from Gaithersburg, MD, while mine, well mine is coming straight from the 517:"… Your movie was not available at your local shipping center. We sent it from Lansing, MI and expect it to arrive on Saturday, Jan 13, 2007…" That's pretty cool!Labels: lansing, netflix

New Addiction
While back east for the holidays last week I stumbled upon the greatest game since Tetris: Jawbreaker. I discovered it while tinkering with my wife's new phone - kind of a mix between a Blackberry and a SideKick. I was interested in the games it came with and, well, "Bubble," as it was called on that device, was the only one available. My initial expectations were low, being that it was the only game offered on the device. But that all changed very quickly, and within few games I was hooked. After I wore out her phone battery, she let me know it was also on her Palm Pilot; there, however, it went by the name "Jawbreaker" (I'm still not quite sure what the correct name for it is).
I was surprised to see that there is no official website for this little piece of electronic genius. Am I the only one inflicted with the Jawbreaker bug? You'd think that a game that comes standard with CE would be decently popular; popular enough that a few people would want to compare scores or strategies anyway. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
Either way, I'm a fan.Labels: games, jawbreaker
