"Are ya'll military?"
Saturday night me and some friends got the ultimate party complement. After some early evening festivities, we made our way over to (an unmentioned club at) Universal City Walk here in LA. The place had a good vibe, but nothing like what we were about to bring. After we had enough drinks in us, we went crazy. I mean absolute ape shit. I actually had to take a seat at one point and be an observer to the whole thing.
It was at that point that a lady turned to me and asked, "are ya'll military?" I kinda looked at her and was like, "no." She went on, "cause it looks like ya'll just got back from Iraq!" That's whassup. Especially since she herself was "military."
(This actually reminded me of another time I was asked if I was military. It was under much different circumstances though. I'll let Rashad tell that one :D )
Time's justa flyin
The month of June has been a rather busy one for me. The little time I've had for blogging has gone into jeromeandjennie.net. Most of my "productive" time has been spent doing research; hopefully I'll have something to show for that soon. A good majority of my June, however, has been spent traveling.
I was at home for a week. That was nice. It's always nice to go home, especially in the summer. Both of my sisters were home also, so no one was left out. The mosquitos were really bad though. During all of my Michigan summers, I can't remember them being that bad. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen that bad anywhere in the world! It was crazy; they were chasing me like I had crack in my veins.
After being at home, I had to go to New Jersey to do pre-cana. I thought this would be a rather painful process, but I was wrong, it was actually kind of fun. After that I made my way down to Mobile, AL for my friends wedding. Mobile is hot as hell. For real, I don't see how the slaves got any work done in all that heat - and they were saying it's usually worse in July! Damn. It was fun though. Hanging out with the other groomsmen provided mucho entertainment.
It's now back to work. Hopefully I can finish up the (research) stuff I was doing before I left and move on to bigger things. Jennifer and I'll be in Indiana this coming weekend, rounding out my summer travel (the planned stuff anyway). Indiana should be a lot of fun actually. It's a family reunion I go to every year; of course, this'll be Jennifer's first time. She'll probably hear a bunch of stories about how I used to wet my pants and cry all the time - standard family initiation type stuff :) Don't worry, I'll give full reports.
