More congrats in line
My man Damian recently got picked up by the Lions. I've known Damian for quite some time, so I'm really glad to see this happening. I wish him all the best in 2007!

Congrats Joel
My man Joel passed his candidacy exam today. If you know him, shoot him a message; if you don't, you need to! Joel's an incredible researcher and just a real cool guy. Congrats my friend!
Food in pounds
Jennifer and I had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory today and my goodness are those portions huge. It got me thinking, in fact, that the days of measuring food intake in calories should be over. We consume so much food we might as well start measuring it in raw weight. That's right, forget trying to figure out how many calories or grams of whatever we're taking in, let's just try and get under control the number of pounds we consume each day.
I think there's a psychological play here too. At this point, measuring caloric or fat/carb/whatever intake isn't sensational enough to mean anything anymore. Food intake needs to be rebranded. Telling people, "hey, you just consumed the equivalent of a new born child today," means a lot more than saying however many thousand calories.
So here's the new "Jerome Diet" - eat whatever you like during the day, just make sure you don't eat more than x lbs. in a single 24 hour period. It's going to take some research to nail down the correct x, but once I do watch out! Atkins and Southbeach will be for the casual dieter.
Tax day
I just did my taxes - what a painful experience. Each year I try and pull some sort of Enron-like move to help save money, but there's usually no avoiding my fate. This year was no exception. If every American paid as much as I just did today, we'd not only be able to invade Iran, but we could give them all free health care too.
Goodbye Geico
I just switched my car insurance. Man am I'm happy to be out of the shackles of Geico. Not only am I saving over $800 over 6 months, but they're going to give me some sort of reimbursement check for like $300. That's whassup. Wish I could cancel with them everyday. Hell, I might just open up another policy so I can cancel it.
