Am I gettin' old?
I "advise" a group of undergrads on a project; nothing special really, just something I have to do since I'm a TA for the class. During a meeting the other day one of the students was trying to write on the white board, but the marker was a little dry and made weird squeaking noise. I says, "hey, that kinda sounds like Bill Cosby's magical pen," but no one laughed. At first I thought, okay, maybe that wasn't funny, but then it occured to me, maybe they didn't know what I was talking about!
I asked and, sure enough, none of them had any idea what I was talking about. When I told them it was an 80's thing they pretty much asked how old I thought they were. That's too bad, 80's culture is already on its way out the door. So here't goes, ode to the old school: "Picture Page it's Picture Page it's time to watch a picture page it's time to watch Bill Cosby do a picture page with you!"
