New Shirt

Last Sunday while in Philly, my girlfriend and I went to brunch with a collegue of hers and her boyfriend (a kind of double date). Shortly after we sat down nature called, so I headed to the bathroom. When I got back, my girlfriend noticed something rather strange on my shirt. I had no idea what it was, and, since it was on my collar, couldn't really look at it to figure it out. She had this look of total disgust on her face, and the other two were trying to figure out what it was too. Being that I had just come back from the bathroom I realised that it could be anything. Upon further analysis, my girlfriend thought it was some kind of food, but couldn't say for sure. Either way, I felt really nasty. They all recommended I go back to the bathroom and attempt to wash it off.

When I got back in and took a look at my shirt, I had no idea what it was, but it really looked nasty… and it was huge! I knew there was no way I was going to wash it off or in any way make less conspicuous, so I had to resort to drastic measures.

I left the bathroom and managed to sneak out of the restaurant entirely unseen (by my girlfriend and the other two anyway). I made my way across the street to this running store - I figured they had to have some shirts there. I ran to the counter and asked the lady for her cheapest shirt. She thought for a second, and took me over to a rack of t-shirts for $20. Even though I had some sort of alien being living on my collar, 20 bucks was kinda steep. I tried to explain the situation and asked her if she had anything in the back; I mean, anything would have been better than what I had on. Like the angel she was, she went in the back and found something, it was pretty nice too. I asked how much she wanted for it, but I think she felt sorry for me because she wouldn't let me pay for it. She even let me use the stores dressing room to change into it (I threw my other shirt in a trash can back there). I thanked her and ran back into the restaurant.

I made it back in just in time for the foods arrival, feeling fresh and new :)
