Fairview Municipal Court

I had to go to court yesterday. It was my first time before a judge, so I was rather excited. It for a parking ticket, mind you, so the worst thing that could have happened was I had to pay it. Much better than some of the other residents in there - the guy who went before me was facing a few years in prison! I was basically there to ask the city to revoke my parking ticket, as I was a resident at the time it was issued. (I use the term "resident" loosely, as I've got a license from one state, registration/plates from another, my car insurance is in a third state, and I work/pay taxes in a fourth state. So yea, I'm not quite sure where I'm technically a "resident." For purposes of this matter, however, I'm Fairview citizen just like the next man :) )

So I get in there and stand in line to speak with a prosecutor (cause you have to get your story straight with them before you stand in front of the judge). It's at this time that I got to rub shoulders with some of Fairviews finest, like my man facing prison time. Finally, it was my turn to go into the back room to see the prosecutor. I had my paper work ready, practicing my shpeel so I was ready when I had to explain it to the judge, when the prosecutor's like, "oh, you were a resident… forget it, I'll throw the case out." I was like whoa! Just like with the big time cases, got my shit thrown out before it even went to trial :) Of course, this meant I'd never get to stand in front of the judge, which kind of sucked. Maybe next time… well, okay, maybe not!
